Wayne and Beckie are known on the Peninsula as the ‘Dynamic Duo’. 

The Colour Collections that you see today is the masterpiece of Wayne and Beckie White.

The Salon is a direct reflection of over 30 years experience between them. Years of mastering their skills and ideas have made them a compelling team! Wayne White has been wielding the scissors for over half his life.  Originally he left school to become a plumber – and chase the eternal wave around the world on his surfboard. Somehow the plumbing route did not materialise. Instead at the age of 16 he was lured into the wonderful world of hairdressing.  The rest is history...

Ever the entrepreneur, Wayne soon decided to open his own salon, ‘Simple Scissors’.  Then there was ‘Under Wraps’.  Both were popular institutions where any creation was possible! Wayne went on to work for both Schwarzkopf, Redkin and Goldwell – hosting seminars internationally and in every state in Australia as a touring motivator and educator.

“I love my work with a passion, he says. The chance to create and design has always been appealing – as both a career and a lifestyle.” 

Wayne revels in teaching stylists how to make clients look fantastic.  His enthusiasm for the industry has been spurred on by constantly changing hair techniques.

Hair design at Colour Collections is the product of Wayne’s persistence, commitment and imagination.

Beckie took a different path on her way into the beauty industry. First step was a two year Beauty & Health Science Diploma at the renowned ‘Flagstaff’ college. It was here that she discovered her gift to become a Nail Professional Extraordinaire!  It was also when she decided that owning her own business would enable her to train other technicians in her trade.

“I have always been excited at the opportunities in nail care, she enthuses. I love to meet people and make their day.  I also get great satisfaction in seeing my team develop their talents. Establishing my own business was a perfect way to achieve that.”  

At 24, Beckie became an Educational Ambassador for global company ‘Creative Nail Design’ (C.N.D).  Such was her dedication and enthusiasm for her trade that she became one of the top 20 Ambassador’s in the world! Beckie’s zeal for training amateur nail professionals never waned. Twelve years later she also won 1st place as the Australian Ambassador of 2006.

Beckie continues to be involved in both global and national seminars.  It ensures that she is always on her game and up-to-date with the cutting edge of nail technology. It also feeds her all-consuming quest to delight each customer. Married and three children later, both personal and business matters are still going strong.

Three years ago Colour Collections extended from 2 shops to 3 – and business is booming! Together they have won outstanding business  awards and continue to host seminars on technical and skill development globally. All team members at Colour Collections are raring to go!
